Cloverfield, J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot Are Back
When the original Cloverfield was announced I was pretty excited. I was already a fan of J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot’s work; (Lost, Fringe, Mission Impossible III, Joy Ride). However, I might have been a little too excited. I have never been fond of “found footage” movies and I kinda thought there was going to be a way cooler ending. But I liked the film just the same and enjoy it more each of the several times I have watched it since then.
One of the things that got me so amped for the first one was how they added a little mystery to film by never showing the monster ahead of time. The secrecy added to the excitement. Well it looks like they are up to there old tricks again by releasing a surprise trailer for the sequel as 10 Cloverfield Lane. From the initial looks of it, some survivors are sheltering in place in a bunker. Of course, as seen in the clip below, tension builds as the group buckle under the pressure of isolation and impending doom.
10 Cloverfield Lane, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, starring: John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. is expected to land in theaters, March 2016.
