Fund Your Creative Project: Grantwriting for Individual Artists & Writers:
Looking to fund your next art or writing project? Learn to craft a compelling grant proposal that will catch funders’ attention. Participants will discover how to research funding, decode application questions, and let the grant writing process focus their career goals. In this workshop, based on Gigi Rosenberg’s book, The Artist’s Guide to Grant Writing, Gigi demonstrates how to play the matchmaking game with potential funders, enlist colleagues and friends to help write a successful proposal, and emulate the attitudes of successful grant recipients.
In this session, attendees will learn:
• Career benefits of writing a grant or residency application
• How to locate and research grant opportunities
• How to enlist a team to help write applications
• How to create a detailed budget that supports the grant application
• How to choose a strong work sample
• How to finesse an artist statement
