Nike is Poppin’ Bottles with Shoes Made of Cork: The Lebron X NSW

Nike’s Lebron X NXW Non Performance Edition:

The crazed infatuation that some sportswear lovers have for sneakers is insane. To stand on a long line, a week or more in advance, in inclement weather, and sometimes risk encountering bodily harm, will never be a logical use of time in my eyes. But never the less, the true power of marketing never fails. When a marquee line releases a new product you will find die hards qued up for the duration to cop a coveted pair of special release kicks.

Enter the LEBRON X NSW cork edition. A remixed, non-performance usage (read: straight profiling) high top version, inspired by the LEBRON X performance shoe.

So… Nike makes a sneaker out of cork to celebrate poppin’ bottles.    :/

Popping champagne bottles on June 21 following his first championship was a tribute to an unprecedented year for LeBron James. Three-time league MVP, Finals MVP – these individual awards pale in comparison to the honor James and his teammates accomplished.

World Champs. A distinction that stands the test of time like a fine champagne, and inspiration for a genuine cork version of James’ tenth signature shoe. Inspired by the LEBRON X performance shoe, Nike Sportswear brings a sophisticated edge to the shoe with premium materials and fabrication intended for off-court use.

The Nike Sportswear LEBRON X NSW cork shoe launches globally in December in limited quantities. I suspect idiots, hooligans and fanboys worldwide are staking out their spots and fluffing up their Snuggies for some long cold nights on line.

And, who would have ever thought cork was such a big deal:
