Ok! This isn’t exactly what most would consider to be qualified as design related. But I do feel it’s close enough in the sense that art, function and man’s ingenuity to design amazing mechanical equipment combine to form a super excavator. This Transformer style construction vehicle was initially proposed by Swiss engineer, Ernst Menzi back in the 70′s. The updated version in the video below, an ET110 was built by China’s 3rd largest construction machinery manufacturer, XCMG and demoed at bauma China 2010.
If this trend were to continue, I think I would like to see Decepticon public parking lots and Autobot sushi spots.
